things that I have been thinking about
There has been some confusion as to what I am writing about when it comes to accelerationism, trans/posthumanism and what not, so I am thinking of going through a series where I kind of share my highlights from some books and then write the things I learned and how that shaped my view on things and so on… so it makes things easier. There is a lot of benefit to be gained from it, one being that newcomers or people with the interest in the topic can find it here and then continue to go ahead and discover this new field, second, that even if I myself am confused, I can come back to my notes and give my memory a nudge
There is a part of me that just wants to write constantly, non-stop, about everything and anything, but life does not seem to allow it; responsibilities only add up, and decisions have now brought their own weight to the table and certainly bring their own effects. It could be good or bad; it definitely depends.
Uncertainty and death are back on the table now; they have been lingering on my mind ever since that day, just a reminder, but the thought of nothingness seems discomforting, and the methods that I had used before seem like they are no longer working. Maybe I have graduated to a new level of existentialism, or I have never really thought about it.
Started reading Mickey Spillane’s book I, the Jury – I do plan on getting through all of the Mike Hammer series, but for some reason getting to this after Maxwell’s Demons by Steven Hall and this being a really old novel (1947) makes it enjoyable. I’m really loving the noir atmosphere of the book, and it’s a really influential book too, inspiring the likes of James Bond, Dirty Harry, Billy Jack, Rambo, John Shaft and countless other fictional tough guys. Maybe the 13-year-old in me is happy, but I’m definitely loving it.
For the life of me, I literally do not know how to spell correctly. Whenever I am done writing, most of the text is riddled with typos, and I am contemplating if I should pay for a premium writing service tool like LanguageTool or Quillbot, but that seems like too much of a stretch. But I also did hear Michael Vsauce once talks about how his search history is just him googling how to spell words, so even if he can’t spell words, who am i to complain
